Oasis Kathmandu Hotel, Kathmandu

I had a mixed experience at this hotel. The rooms were mostly clean and comfortable, but the layout with changes in floor level was a bit tricky to navigate. The bed was cozy, though. The service was outstanding, with a super friendly and welcoming staff. The location was great, just on the edge of the bustling Thamel area, providing a good balance. The dining options were somewhat repetitive, although the quality was decent. Overall, a decent stay with some room for improvement.

Staying on the 4th floor without an elevator made it a bit challenging for the kids, but overall, the hotel offered an amazing experience at an affordable price. The rooms were spacious, with a huge lounge area and a large bedroom and bathroom, complete with good beds and a large clean bathroom. A true oasis in the city.

However, being positioned right on the staircase can be a bit noisy, and the lack of a lift to access the 4th-floor rooms via steep metal steps may be challenging.

The hotel is situated perfectly, between the Thamel district with its eateries and shops, and the new Royal Palace. The rooms were clean, large, and cleverly set out, similar to an apartment, providing privacy. The service was top-notch, with a very friendly and attentive staff. The dining experience included a decent spread with an Indian/Nepali vegetarian dish, adding variety. However, a downside was the service staff being a little too friendly at times. Overall, a great value for money stay with fantastic room arrangements and helpful service.
